It is totally normal to feel anxiety before a healing!
In fact its an excellent indicator you are about to have a particularly juicy shift of consciousness.
Anxiety can often get a bad rap in our current culture. We often judge it as a bad sign, something to be controlled or that something is wrong. But it can also indicate we are about to experience something NEW and that something is about to CHANGE. Which is exactly what happens when you have an intention for healing.
When you book in for a healing session/workshop the healing starts to happen the day you book in. Things will start shifting well before you actually turn up to the session. This is the power of intention.
I will always warn students that are booked in for Reiki Training, 1:1 Soul Medicine Sessions and my Ritual Nights that if they have resistance to coming to the event, it’s a good sign they are about to go through a major breakthrough.
The resistance can be a tricky one to navigate though, as its voice will often tell you all the reasons why you don’t need to go. aka. “I am tired, I feel sick, I don’t need this, I am busy, I have too much on, I can go another time, I have to stay home and look after this person or this distraction, I want to do x, y, z instead, etc etc”
In every single case that I have felt huge resistance to going to a healer, a ceremony, a class or a workshop after booking, when I turn up and go – I ALWAYS experience a life-changing breakthrough. I have been teaching and facilitating in healing environments for over 10 years now and witnessed it happen hundreds of times from various clients and students over the years….
The bigger the resistance, the bigger the breakthrough on the other side!!
So I encourage you, the next time you feel anxious before doing any healing work just bring your hand to your tummy and say “Anxiety, I feel you, I see you, I sense you, I embrace you, thank you for helping me to become present to the change that is happening within me. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you“. Re-frame your relationship to your anxiety… Remember the anxious feeling is PART of you, but not all of you! If your feeling it before a healing – It’s a good sign!
